Lost At E Minor is a website and weekly email newsletter that sources out and features the best new illustration, photography, art and music from Australia and around the world. It is the product of a collaboration between brothers Zac and Zolton Zavos who come from backgrounds in IT and magazine editing respectively and who wanted to work together on a project which tapped into their interests in various mediums of creative expression.

They have always operated with an agenda of giving props to artists and musicians that they respect and think deserve more recognition. Lost At E Minor has also established media partnerships with websites such as
Cool Hunting and Design is Kinky to provide other avenues through which to promote the work that they like. Lost At E Minor is editorially independent and they only plug something if they like it.

The Lost At E Minor logo was designed by Melbourne-based company,
Urchin Associates. Submissions from illustrators, artists, photographers, and musicians are always encouraged. They also welcome banner submissions and advertising

Lost At E Minor welcomes submissions from illustrators, artists, photographers, t-shirt designers, musicians, writers, figurine creators, and other talented people from around the world who are working within the broad realm of pop culture and would like to showcase their work through the newsletter and the website so click on to find out more about Lost At E Minor .

Thanks Roger for giving me the link and Zolton for posting my submission onto the site.

IF- Peace

Sometime I really wonder, do we really need to go for war to have peace? Why do those that killed people’s enemy still be worshipped as a Hero? This is really a very subjective question with no definite answer. Anyway these are just some of my thoughts on the war...Peace to the world!!

(*Strange i did this sometime ago , and when i go through my blog , it have not been posted before???)

DreamSeeker 梦寻者

i've been a Dreamseeker in Lioncity and design society since 2004 . Almost 2 years had gone and i'm still seeking......

Someone asked me what sort of dream am i seeking? I told her , "I wanted to be better and be a full time illustrator whereby i can survive with the little knowledge and the amateur skill i have." Some wet wild dream isn't it ....

Like what i mentioned in my previous blog

"Dream(s) are meant to be non-reality,are imaginary,or artificial and it happened only when you sleep but i believe if you dare to dream(s) on (as mention in the jap caption) and catch it. Anything can be brought to reality! Anything can be possible. May all your dreams come true! 祝你有个好梦"

~Dreamseeker 梦寻者 , xbsg

* I've been wanting to make a illustration for/of Dreamseeker, so here i presented to you " Your Dream girl!" :P

*I had also submitted this illo as a design into , do remember to drop by again and vote for me/her. Viva la Dreams .

Member Zoom in Amateurillustrator

Since i was asked to intro myself in , i think i might as well post it here for you guys to know more about me.

(Self potrait of myself doing Kamen Rider henshin)

Xiaobaosg (
xiao= small , bao=treasure in chinese)
is an intensly skilled craftsman and his work is instantly recognizable aswell as being vibrant in color and chock full of energy and has a great style to boot. His work ranges from graphic novel style panels and original characters to excellent interpretations of people and situations. He is also the creator of the single most popular thread in our forums to date, check it out here and get a taste of his signature visual style. But lets hear what he has to say:

Tell us abit about yourself:
I believe in creating something out of nothing as an artist. I see myself as a kidult, young at heart and am known as xiaobaosg to my friends. I am an amateur illustrator in every sense of the word (as I started to learn art about 2 years ago) working freelance in Singapore. Beside that I’m also doing some personal commission work on the side, via
4playz, a collaboration of two illustrators and a comic artist.

What inspires you in terms of creating art:
I’m much influenced by the Japanese and Chinese cultures, and I got most of my inspiration from movies, movie posters, comics, from the music I enjoy listening to and generally things that happen around me.

Tell us more about your work:
My work mainly ranges from poster design to T-shirt design. But I do have lots of things going on, here’s a list:

Tee design:
Starting my freelance as designing t-shirts for company and forums. Currently I’m working out a project with 4playz to come out with a series of merchandise.

Vintage design:
As i am much influenced by Japanese and Chinese culture, vintage or retro design naturally become one of my favourites topic for my works. I tried to follow, explore and catch the raw and old styles feel of old poster using their colour palettes and textures.

Mosaic Monkey:

Derived from the most popular Chinese myths “Journey to the west”, experimenting with different styles to illustrates the scenes. I tried to re-tell/ recreate the story and characters in a modern way and a more funny ways as much of the illustration was actually spoof from a certain movie (poster or scene).

Fetish Series:

A personal series of illustrations of provocative females of different roles, much inspired by Tokidoki (Simone Legno, one of my favourite designer).

It is often used to indicate danger or emergency. In Chinese symbolism, red is the color of good luck and it’s also the color of the passion , romance and sex.RED also represents the female menstrual cylce and therefore maturity and sexuality. Paradoxically, it also denotes anger.

This is our first theme , RED (红) , and so all our designs will be printed on a RED colour tee only. So it's very auspicious to wear this tee during Chinese New Year .

Mosaic Monkey Return Sketches

The Sketches of Mosaic Monkey Returns
Normally for me , before i make a illustration , i will roughly planned out the layout and do some sketches on my sketchbook first , i will then redraw everything again in Marcomedia Flash (as Flash can produce a better linesweight for drawing) .After that , i will export the "drawing" to Photoshop to add in effect and texture .

The journey of Mighty monkey , MM , will return soon..........

<xbsg> Currently, we are preparing to launch the first merchanise for 4playz, our first wave will be limited edition tee-shirts . There will be a total of 4 designs (not more than 40 pieces per design) selling worldwide, so watch this space and blog for more updates.
